Fennell Scholars

The Frederick Fennell Scholars Program offers talented high school musicians the opportunity to earn a scholarship toward intensive study at Interlochen Arts Camp. Awards are based on the strength of the student's experience and audition.

Musicians who excel in woodwinds, brass, or percussion are eligible to earn up to a full scholarship to America's premier band program at Interlochen Arts Camp. The Fennell Scholarship is named after Interlochen alumnus Frederick Fennell, who was one of the world's most distinguished wind conductors and a life-long friend of Interlochen.

Eligibility

The Fennell Scholarship is available to:

  • Applicants currently eligible for the high school division
  • Applicants auditioning on brass, woodwinds, or percussion for the six-week orchestra and wind ensemble summer program

How to Apply

All applicants who meet the eligibility requirements listed above are automatically considered for the Fennell Scholarship. There is no separate application/audition process for the scholarship. Simply follow the audition instructions for the ensemble program. Please note that applicants must submit their application by January 15 to be considered for this scholarship.

Camp applicants not selected to receive a Fennell Scholarship may still be considered for financial aid by completing the financial aid information section of the application for admission.
